Nanjing Agricultural University has been devoted to international cooperation for many years, and has promoted development in disciplines by benefiting from various cooperative researches with famous overseas institutions of higher education and academic research. The most evident benefit in this regard is the establishment of a number of state key laboratories and research centers in recent years. These key laboratories and centers, co-founded with famous foreign universities and research organizations, supply sustainably developmental platforms for NAU’s high-level talent cultivation and integration of production, teaching and research, which is a turning point to internalization of the university. In the past few years, we have established a series of international joint research centers, such as the International Joint Collaborative Research Laboratory for Animal Health & Food Safety, the Center for International Research on Animal Gut Nutrition, the OIE Reference Laboratory for Infection Prevention and Control, the Sino-US Joint Research Center of Food Quality and Safety, the China-Netherlands Center of Cadastral Development and Planning, the China-Netherlands Center of Research on the Supply Chain of agricultural Products, the Sino-Japanese Joint Laboratory of Plant Molecular Ecology, and so on.
Following the social and economic development in China, Nanjing Agricultural University has for the past five years increased cooperation with overseas institutions of higher education in the field of technology transfer based on demand in agricultural production and development of the country the institution is in. Selective import or export has been carried out of high-quality new agricultural crop varieties, and of mature and advanced technologies of agricultural production. By localized application and commercial development of the counterpart’s technological achievements, these achievements have been transferred internationally, helpful in solving practical problems in agricultural production in related countries, and beneficial for cultivating high-quality and international-vision talents in extension of agricultural technologies. NAU has now constructed international platforms of technology transfer with Cornell University in the USA and Egerton University in Kenya.
